musical experiences enriching lives

Welcome

The African Music project provides regular showcase opportunities for high calibre bands with music inspired by the rich variation of culture emanating from Africa.

The objectives are to broaden appreciation and increase understanding of the music whilst giving the audience an opportunity to participate in something not on offer in their locality.

Although these bands travel the world, they do not earn the regular huge fees of popular artists, and without the support of these showcases, it is difficult for them to introduce new work to audiences.

The African Music Project is supported by Arts Council England, PRS Foundation for Music, Gwyneth Wint of Artdev (Artistic, Creative & Professional Development) and African Night Fever.

The African Music Project offers musical experiences that enrich people’s lives; whether as a musician and performer, member of the audience, or participating in a workshop. It brings communities together and plays a part in engaging them in arts participation.
